Great Things I Noticed this Week:
- Virtual escape room with students working together in partners to apply what they've learned and have fun at the same time.
- HS Student council and our incredible Strive Mentor superheroes working the coat drive to bring in over 150 coats. Then our amazing staff got right to work making sure kids who needed them got them!
- When students began working on math problems in partners, the students in BlueJeans were put in breakout rooms of two so they could also work in partners.
- Students collaborating to build a marble roller coaster to learn about potential energy, velocity, kinetic energy and total energy.
- In a conversation with a student and teacher to discuss behavior, the teacher communicated the expectation, the unacceptable behavior, the consequence and then the continued message of care and support to help the student be successful (and yes, still having the consequence!)
- When a student was informed of having been in close contact with an individual who tested positive for COVID and he would need to be quarantined, he didn't dwell on having to go home...he said that he felt bad for whoever that was and hoped the student would be ok.
