Friday Focus - November 6, 2020

Great Things I Noticed this Week:

  • Homecoming is different than it's ever been with so many of our Dodgeland traditions missing. When students were complaining about it, you helped remind them of what they did get to have this year, knowing that other high schools didn't. We can be sad about what we're missing, but we can also focus on the good!
  • Teachers enjoying the fun of Homecoming dress up days (and some of your choices made my day to see!)
  • Great idea sharing discussions in our faculty meeting breakout rooms.
  • Students working together to build physical models to learn the different parts of DNA (don't worry...with sanitization!)
  • Students working together in small groups (with some in breakout rooms in BlueJeans to include blended learners in the collaboration).

Upcoming Events:
Today: Homecoming court parade outside this afternoon (see Marcia's email for time/details).

Tonight's Homecoming game will be livestreaming on our district youtube channel.

Wednesday - Veterans Day - we obviously can't gather together for our traditional Veterans Day assembly, but there will be a video to show during lunch/advisory that will have many components of the assembly that are a part of our traditional assembly.

Wednesday was a scheduled HS faculty meeting - please plan to use for your department discussions. If you would like to meet with me for anything I will have Office Hours in my BlueJeans.

"Nuts & Bolts" Notes:
As I shared in our faculty meeting, we plan to start sending out concerns letters to parents of students who have been at home for blended learning and are not participating/not doing well.  Please report any students that you are concerned about by Wednesday, November 18th here:

Here’s your opportunity to order Dodgeland gear and support a good cause? Order HERE November 2 - November 18th.

All proceeds will benefit the Ava Finger family to help support the many financial needs that have come from her tragic mountain biking accident that caused paralysis. We know that Ava is working hard in her recovery and we want to support her and her family with our #DodgelandStrong support.
