The Final Friday Focus

Great Things I Noticed this Week:
*On Tuesday when a student came in looking grumpy I said, "You should be smiling it's your last week." This student's response shocked me when she said, "I don't want school to end." I thought I misheard her, because she's let me know in words and actions all year that she doesn't enjoy school.  I asked what she said to make sure and she confirmed what I heard, "I don't want school to end, because I'll be bored."

*A wonderful send off for Lori, whom we will miss dearly...but, she will still be coming back to help transition the Academic Decathlon.

*Students actively engaged even on Thursday...solving challenges in the class breakout/escape and in Geocaching on school grounds. Students still presenting for their final project of the semester.

*Our seniors on their graduation senior walk through the elementary. You can check it out HERE.

*Even though it felt like Florida, our middle school students did a great job sitting for our first assembly all year in the football bleachers. We presented many students with awards for Academic Achievement, Academic Effort, Citizenship, The Happy Hale Award (in memory of Shane Hale), and the Shelly Gilpatrick Award.

Now take a moment...today is the last day of the 2020-2021 school year. The year that we had no idea what to expect. We didn't think we'd even be in the building long.  You taught like an octopus with kids in person and online. Some of you monitored kids completely virtual on APEX.  You did like 8 million different things this year that we've never had to do.  And...WE DID IT!!!!!!!
